Deadline Falls is a short but massive waterfall on the north Umpqua Wild and Scenic River. It's very difficult to get a photograph
of the falls that shows the ominous nature of the river at this point. Usually, it looks like some little bump in the river that one could
easily slide over in an inner tube. It's not. I've included this photograph in this pictorial show with the hope that it will give
an idea of the power of the falls; these are class 5 rapids, and one of the rapids is a keeper.

Between May and October it's possible to view salmon and steelhead jumping the rapids on their journey to spawn upstream.
The Deadline Falls Watchable Wildlife Site is located a quarter mile upstream on the Tioga segment of North Umpqua Trail,
accessed at the Swiftwater Trailhead. The trail to Deadline Falls is wheelchair accessible, and the rare, because it's so natural,
opportunity to easily enjoy nature, for both seniors and families with young children. The Swiftwater Trailhead is just east of
Idleyld Park, just east of the Narrows Wayside on the Umpqua River.
